Able Projects was born on a Tuesday evening in the Royal Standard in Blackheath. Johnny had bought a Victorian mid-terrace in Rectory Fields and was looking forward to transforming an unloved two-up two-down into a stylish family home. What he hadn’t banked on was how hard it was to find reliable, qualified tradespeople he could trust.
The staircase was the final straw. What seemed like a simple job of replacing a bannister turned the hallway into one of those fun house amusements,with broken treadboards, a chunk hacked out of the landing wall, loose spindles and a missing joiner. He abandoned the job part way through, stopped taking calls and disappeared from My Builder.
It was clear that the industry needed a shake up. Johnny decided to apply the project management skills he had developed during his 25 year career in manufacturing and property renovation to establish Able Projects with a mission to be exactly the kind of tradespeople he would hire for his own home.
Since that fateful evening Able has been privileged to work on domestic and commercial projects covering all aspects of property renovation; from painting and decorating, joinery and carpentry, plastering, plumbing, to bathroom and kitchen build and installation. We recently had a wall papered and another painted in our flat by Johnny and Paul at Able Projects and I couldn't recommend them enough. Professional, affordable and extremely nice guys. The attention to detail was exceptional and worked to our specifications impeccably. I'd had a few other painter and decorators quote for the job, but all seemed off on the paint we chose offering alternatives and pushing for something to suit them - not Johnny, he just rolled with it and did such a great job. We couldn't be happier, and would definitely use them again.
